Even if you obviously made a mistake or error never apologize or say that you are sorry. Blame anything or anyone else but not yourself. Pontificate that this was an impossible situation anyway and you were not to blame.

 

During a PowerPoint presentation by our boss, it was obviously not spell-checked the presentation. It was full of spelling errors and the alignment of the content of the slides was off. At the end he proceeded to lambast his administrative assistant for the errors. I later found out that he had never even given it to her to proof check for errors.
