Another Bogeyman Leader Attribute: Do Not Fix Problems

Never fix a problem that employees are complaining about. Dismiss them as irrelevant and unimportant. Never fix any quality of life issues and comfort issues. Make sure that you, as the leader, have the most comfort and best quality of life in, your luxurious office.

Once in a department that I worked in an employee complained about the smell from our heaters. It was a dead mouse. It was finally removed. Our boss dismissed any smell as an exaggeration. During another routine inspection of our heaters, by our safety hygienist they detected unusually high level of CO2 in our department. We all had to go to the local hospital for tests for CO2 levels. Two employees had above average levels. The heaters were replaced but our boss still downplayed the incident as minor.

His organization was self-founded in 1995. He retired as a Captain from the Navy Reserve.
