Analyze the Process Map Delays Then Brainstorm the Fixes

Analyze the Process Map Delays Then Brainstorm the Fixes

First do a process map.  Teams should review the as-is/current-state process map delays such as, inventories, and hand offs. Have the team analyze or give the reasons for the delays or the whys, and then list them.         Discuss root causes if known, and list them right on the as-is process map. There may be multiple ones. If you can categorize them, sort them out.

Then establish the rules for the brainstorm session and solicit the team’s ideas via a brainstorming session on overcoming the delays or fixes. Capture them, and list them right on the as-is process map.

This basic methodology works for many process improvement projects.
